ASTM A106 Grade B Pipes are made from carbon steel with a carbon content up to 0.30%, manganese between 0.29–1.06%, phosphorus and sulfur at max 0.035%, and silicon minimum 0.10%. They have a minimum tensile strength of 415 MPa (60,000 psi) and minimum yield strength of 240 MPa (35,000 psi), with an elongation of 16.5% minimum transverse and 30% minimum longitudinal. The pipes offer excellent strength combined with good ductility and weldability. Sizes range from 1/8 inch to 48 inches nominal bore, with schedules varying up to XXS thickness.
