Carbon Steel API 5L Grade B pipes contain maximum 0.30% carbon, 1.20% manganese, 0.50% copper, 0.50% nickel, 0.50% chromium, and 0.15% molybdenum, with phosphorus and sulfur limited to 0.03% each. These pipes deliver minimum tensile strength of 60,200 psi (415 MPa) and minimum yield strength of 35,500 psi (245 MPa), with elongation of approximately 23%, ensuring excellent ductility and strength for high-pressure pipeline service. PSL2 Grade B pipes undergo additional Charpy V-notch impact testing at 0°C to guarantee 27-40 joules absorbed energy, providing enhanced fracture toughness and reliability for critical applications.
